Corrosion Resistant

Pultruded products are resistant to the corrosion of gases, liquids of acid, alkali, & salt and organic solvents and so will avoid the problems caused by rusting steel and rotting wood.

Light weight & high strength

Pultruded Sections are moulded through the solidification of fibreglass and resin under high temperature.  Its density is only one quarter that of steel and two thirds that of aluminium, yet its tensile strength is ten times that of PVC, exceeds that of aluminium and reaches the level of common carbon steel.  It is easy and cost effective to install.

Flame Retardant

The oxygen index of Pultruded Section is above 32 (to China GB8924 Standard) and achieves Grade 1 standard in ASTM E-84 tests.  A flame spread performance rating of less than 10 can be achieved using Vinylester resins which gains ABS recognition.

Durable

Pultruded sections offer excellent impact resistance even in sub-zero temperatures.  The glass mat within the structure distributes impact loads to prevent excessive surface damage.

Long Service Life

Life expectancy of the product is greater that 20 years.  Even after this duration of atmospheric exposure, tests have shown that greater than 85% of the structural integrity of the product is retained.

Maintenance free, good aesthetics

As the colour pigment is added to the resin it is integral to it’s structure, the product retains it’s bright colour with little fading over time.  No surface painting is ever required and an easy wash down procedure soon restores the original appearance.

Fabrication, Machining & Assembly

The physical properties of GRP Pultruded Sections make them easy to drill, cut and assemble into finished structures.  No special cutting equipment, torches or welding are required.

Electro-magnetic Transparency

Pultruded products are completely transparent to radio waves, microwaves, radar and other electromagnetic frequencies.

Insect Resistant

When replacing existing structures or designing new ones, GRP offers distinct advantages over wood where the infestation of wood boring insects may, over its lifespan, undermine the structure.

Low Temperature Capabilities

GRP Pultrusions exhibit excellent mechanical properties at very low temperatures, even as low as -40^oC. Tensile strength and impact strengths are actually greater at this temperature than at +25^oC.
