Evergrip is established within the UK and Europe as a specialist manufacturer and supplier of Anti-slip safety products.   As part of ongoing product development in 2003, Evergrip brought its manufacturing skills and knowledge to a design requirement for a new railway platform decking system made from composite materials. With Network Rail investing heavily in the future of the railway infrastructure this new GRP system’s benefits have been shown to offer major advantages over alternative proposals e.g. steel or timber, where the combination of corrosion resistance, strength, lightweight and insulating properties have all proved to be highly desirable characteristics.  This exciting design is now tested, approved and in service and is set to bring about a revolution in platform surfacing solutions.

The Evergrip panels have undergone rigorous testing under laboratory conditions to record their mechanical capabilities and slip resistance. Live trials were also set up and their suitability & performance monitored.  Whereas old specification plywood can show signs of deterioration after 6 years, the new Evergrip GRP system offers a 25 year design life.
